This art work represents one of the early developments in my seahorse series.
It is a purse-cum-teapot that evolved with the introduction of the seahorse motif.
After the construction phase, I began by hand-painting various seahorse images on the quilted surface fabric of the purse.
To immerse theseahorses into the watery element they clearly needed, I then added interspersed multilayered sea-colored glazes to try to capture a delicate, shimmering, ephemeral sea-like quality.
