This piece represents the prototype for a new development pathway for me, a line of art work called Puggetbooks. The name is a play on the words Pug and pocketbook.
-
These works feature portraits of the toy breed of Chinese Pugs, whose consistent attributes of playfulness, intelligence, charm, devotion and stubbornness make them particularly attractive as pets.
-
This work is designed as a functional Teabag, a teapot in the form of a purse, with images of Pug puppies emerging from within. It is intended to show the wit and whimsy of the combination of subjects, specifically the fancifully quilited handbag and the contrastingly cuddly animal forms.
