FLORAL QUILT

This work was the source of considerable frustration to me in its artistic development. Unable to complete the overall design to my satisfaction, I cut it up into smaller segments, each a separate small composition. Almost magically, the parts began to integrate themselves into a pleasing whole.

The fabric painting, cut and rearranged, was placed on a large fabric backing.

After it was assembled, the entire piece was then quilted.

All aspects of the design for this piece were first drawn by hand and then hand-painted.
