Constructed of high-fired stoneware clay cone 9/10.

Part of a series of canteen styled ceramic works. This piece was the result of my interest in creating a relief of a seashell on the surface of a ceramic. It required several tries until it was ultimately successful.

Construction sequence: Wheel thrown and altered parts. Sculpted shell relief to the front surface. Initially fired to cone 06. Raku glazes applied. Refired in a raku firing to cone 9/10. Gold leaf added after firings completed as a cold finish.
